Impact of transferring transgender prisoners into women's prisons: A human rights issue

The UN Special Rapporteur for Torture, Dr. Alice Jill Edwards, put out a public call for submissions on prison management practices. On November 26 we emailed our submission that outlines the human rights issues with the practice the federal government and many provinces adopted allowing for easier transfer of gender non-conforming male prisoners into women's prisons.
